Live Stock Shipping

At 5B Aquarium Supplies, we understand the importance of shipping live stock safely and securely. We take great care in ensuring that your aquatic pets arrive at their destination in optimal health and condition. In this guide, we will outline our shipping process and the measures we take to guarantee the well-being of your beloved aquatic companions.

1. Over Night Shipping :

When it comes to shipping live stock, proper packaging is crucial. We use high-quality materials and specialized containers designed to maintain a stable environment during transit. These containers are equipped with insulation and padding to protect your aquatic pets from temperature fluctuations and physical damage.

2. Temperature Control:

Aquatic animals are highly sensitive to temperature changes. To ensure their well-being, we carefully monitor and regulate the temperature inside the shipping containers. We use insulated packaging and include heat packs or cool packs, depending on the weather conditions, to maintain an optimal temperature range throughout the journey.

3. Oxygen Supply:

Proper oxygen supply is essential for the survival of live stock during transportation. We ensure that our shipping containers have adequate ventilation and oxygen circulation to keep your aquatic pets healthy and stress-free. This helps to prevent any potential oxygen deprivation during transit.

4. Fast and Reliable Shipping:

6. Live Arrival Guarantee:

We stand behind the quality of our live stock and guarantee their safe arrival. In the unlikely event that any issues arise during shipping, such as loss or damage, we will work with you to find a satisfactory solution. Your satisfaction and the well-being of your aquatic pets are our top priorities.

1) Upon arrival, please send a photo (less than 5MB) of the lost specimen to:support@5baquariums.com. No videos can be accepted.

2) Please include "DOA", your Order Number in the subject line. (Example DOA #1234). In the body of the email, include your name and item name with quantity of deceased specimens.

Once we receive a valid claim, we will refund you for the value of the fish in full within 5 business days. We do not send out replacements.

*Please note the shipping cost pays for only a portion of the actual Overnight fee. 
 In order to make overnight shipping available service to our hobby we DO NOT refund shipping charges.
Due to an increase in fraudulent DOA (dead on arrival) claims on more expensive saltwater and some freshwater fish, we now REQUIRE a "Proof of death" picture be provided for any store credit or refund on fish.

Live Fish, Invertebrates & Plants Delivery Schedule

The following schedule shows anticipated delivery based on the day you place your order. As delivery issues (such as inclement weather) may arise, please wait for an email confirming the delivery date for your order.

If we need to contact you for any reason about your order, shipping of your package may be affected. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order summary. Orders are subject to verification of payment information by phone or email.

Terms & Conditions

In order to ensure that the Live Fish, Invertebrates, & Live Plants are kept in a safe environment, please be available to sign for the package the day that the order arrives. Please accept the package even if it is late, as it cannot be returned to the vendor. If you are not available to sign for the package, we can only guarantee a refund of the price of the Live Fish & Invertebrates and not the shipping cost.

If regrettably your Live Fish, Invertebrates, or Live Plants arrives deceased, will gladly issue a refund. We don't not reship all or partial orders. We don't refund the shipping cost.

Live Fish, Invertebrates, & Live Plant arrivals must be acclimated immediately upon receipt.

We recommend that all new aquatic life be quarantined for 14 days. We will not refund or replace any existing Live Fish, Invertebrates, or Live Plant that is injured or becomes ill as a result of introducing new aquatic life to your aquarium.

Live Fish, & Invertebrates, & Live Plants refunds may only be given by contacting Customer Relations. Live Fish, & Invertebrates, & Live Plants CANNOT be returned.

Returns or refunds cannot be offered on Live Fish, Invertebrates, or Plants that you decide you do not want. Please ensure the items you order are what you want before finalizing the order.

Disclaimer: The Live Fish, Invertebrates, and Live Plant, temperament guidelines and care requirements provided on this web site are based on our experience and research, and will be applicable in most cases. However, each specimen is unique and some Live Fish, Invertebrates, or Live Plant care requirements may not match information from other sources. There are often differing opinions on the care of some Live Fish, Invertebrates & Live Plant species, even among experts. Therefore, we encourage you to conduct your own research, especially if you have questions about best practices to care for your Live Fish, Invertebrates & Live Plants. Shipping costs are NOT refundable

Backorders

If your order cannot be immediately fulfilled in its entirety, we will ship the items we have in stock and the remaining items will be CANCELED from your order. You may reorder once they become available again.

Cancellations:

If you need to cancel your order for any reason, email us at support@5baquariums.com and include "CANCEL" in the subject line along with your order number. 

The deadline to cancel an order is 12pm PST on the day your fish are scheduled to ship.

Fish and Plants Not Allowed By State
5baquariums.com complies with all State and Federal import, export, and shipping regulations regarding transportation and keeping exotic fish, coral, and plant species.

USA and California:
Wolf fish (snakeheads), freshwater stingrays, piranha, channel catfish, tilapia, walking catfish, parasitic catfish, Florida gars, newts except fire belly, regular dojo loach, all endangered species not covered by CITES certification (such as Asian Arowana), certain freshwater plants including cabomba, parrots feather, water lettuce, duckweed.

Arizona:
Electric Eels, Blind Cave fish, Florida Gar

Florida:
Electric eels, electric catfish, tiger fish

Hawaii:
Nearly everything, this is a restricted state that requires management approval before shipping anything.

Louisiana:
Electric eel

Michigan:
Gold dojo loach, bitterling

Mississippi:
Electric eel, electric catfish, tiger fish, peacock bass, all Florida and South American gars and barracudas, carapo banded knifefish

Oklahoma:
Electric eel, electric catfish, arapaima, silver arowana, and blue arowana

South Carolina:
Electric eel, blind cave fish 

 

Texas:
Arapaima, electric eel, electric catfish, South American and Florida Gars, African pike and tiger fish, South American barracuda freshwater.


Utah:
Blind cave fish

Please note that claims for lost or damaged shipments must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
