The Red Rili Shrimp is a color variant of the Fire Red Shrimp. Fire Red Shrimp are a product of the selective breeding of the Red Cherry Shrimp for vibrant red and coloration. Red Rili Shrimp were created by selecting for their bold translucent white and red striping, and have become a very stable line. Red Rili Shrimp are consistently bright red with Translucent white striping. Typically the striping pattern is red at the head and front part of the body with a translucent white stripe in the middle body and a red tail. There can be variations depending on the breeding line.

These shrimp are very active as they scavenge the tank, cleaning up waste. They love to feed off of naturally occurring biofilm and algae, especially in a planted tank. For this reason, they can be quite low maintenance; in fact, they can even help keep your tank clean! Red Rili Shrimp can withstand a pretty wide range of water parameters, and their life expectancy can be up to 2 years if they are kept well. These shrimp are eager breeders, making them a great choice for beginners to freshwater shrimp breeding. Red Rili Shrimp are not an aggressive species, and this combined with their versatility makes them a good option as tank companions.
